Hormone of the Night

Let's talk about melatonin or what you called the " Hormone of the Night". This is quite an  interesting compound that is produced by the pineal gland located in the center of the brain.It was discovered as an antioxidant in 1993.It acts as a synchronizer of the biological clock. We can also find melatonin in foods such as vegetables, grains and meats but in very small amounts. We can find in the market, some melatonin supplements .They are available in capsules, tablets, liquids or transdermal patches. But most doctors don't recommend nor prescribed this. It's probably because the physiological roles of this compound are still unclear despite almost fifty years of research. Although some people really used this to be able to sleep longer even though they're not as strong as prescription sleep aids.
